We are fortunate to have a highly skilled and experienced team. Due to our mixed age program, children get to know the same staff for two years. This supports relationships between children and educators, which is an essential foundation for learning and development.
Karen WATTS
BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
(Early Childhood)
Karen is the Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor at Seaford Heights Preschool and brings more than 30 years of experience in the early childhood education sector, including many years dedicated to the Seaford Heights Preschool community. Her extensive knowledge, experience, and passion for teaching make her a valued leader and mentor within the service.
Karen recognises that the preschool years are a critical period in a child's social, emotional, and academic development. Understanding the significant influence that early childhood educators have on children's lives, she is committed to ongoing professional learning and continually seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and refine her practice. This dedication ensures that children receive high-quality educational experiences that support their learning, development, and wellbeing.
Karen is passionate about building strong, respectful relationships with children and takes great joy in getting to know each child as an individual. She finds it rewarding to observe children develop new skills, gain confidence, and achieve milestones throughout their kindergarten year. Karen is continually inspired by children's curiosity, creativity, and capacity for learning, and values the unique perspectives they bring to the learning environment.
Developing meaningful partnerships with families and the wider community is a key focus of Karen's practice. She believes that collaborative relationships between educators and families are essential for achieving positive outcomes for children. One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is welcoming returning families and having the opportunity to teach siblings across generations, fostering a strong sense of connection and belonging within the preschool community.
Karen leads the educational program with a commitment to excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every child is supported to reach their full potential in a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
DOROTHY MOZEJKO
BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHING
(Undergraduate Student)
Dorothy has worked with children as an Educator for seven years and is currently studying her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. She started at Seaford Heights as a student, finishing her Diploma in 2021.
She is very passionate about working with children and believes that all children are competent learners. One of the most cherished aspects of her work is learning alongside them.
Dorothy is a mum who loves animals, nature, reading and spending time with friends and family.
She loves getting to know all the families that make up the wonderful community here at Seaford Height Pre-School.
LEENA CAMBUS
BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHING
Leena has been working in the early childhood industry for over 5 years. Leena brings a huge passion for children’s learning and development to Seaford Heights.
One of the reasons why she wanted to be an Early Childhood Educator is her drive to provide children with care, love and safety.
She believes all children thrive in environments where they feel included and they belong, providing them with a strong foundation on which to learn.
One of the most exciting parts of Leena’s job is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, that then allows them take risks and develop new skills that in turn benefit their development.
One of the most treasured parts of her work is her belief that children can be our greatest teachers if we in turn take the time to understand them and nurture them in their growth.
LAUREN
DIPLOMA OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Lauren is a Diploma-qualified educator who is currently in her second year of employment at Seaford Heights Preschool. She has developed positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues and is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.
This year, Lauren will work in two different roles within the service. On Wednesdays, she will work as an Inclusion Support Educator, providing additional assistance to children who require extra support to participate fully in the preschool program. In this role, Lauren collaborates with educators, families, and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and ensure all children have equitable opportunities to learn and develop.
On Thursdays and Fridays, Lauren will work as an educator within the preschool program. Her responsibilities include planning and implementing learning experiences, supporting children's development and wellbeing, observing and documenting children's learning, and contributing to a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Lauren values ongoing professional development and continually reflects on her practice to enhance outcomes for children and families. Through her dual roles, she contributes to creating an inclusive, supportive, and high-quality early childhood education environment.
Almira
BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (Undergraduate Student)
Almira joins the teaching team this year as an educator and inclusion support educator. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and is expected to complete her qualification at the end of 2026.
Almira works on Mondays and Wednesdays as an educator within the preschool program. In this role, she supports children's learning, development, and wellbeing through the implementation of engaging and meaningful educational experiences. She works collaboratively with colleagues to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes positive outcomes for all children.
On Fridays, Almira works in an Inclusion Support role, providing additional assistance to children who require extra support to participate fully in the educational program. She works alongside educators, families, and external professionals to implement inclusive practices and ensure that every child has equitable opportunities to engage in learning and social experiences.
As an undergraduate early childhood teacher, Almira brings current knowledge and enthusiasm to the service. She is committed to developing her professional skills and applying contemporary early childhood theories and practices to support children's learning and development. Through her studies and practical experience, Almira contributes positively to the teaching team and supports the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care.
TINA
We are excited to welcome Tina to our teaching team in 2026!
Tina will be joining us in an Inclusion Support role on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many of our families may already know Tina, as she has previously supported the Seaford Heights Kindergarten team in the same role.
Tina is passionate about creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to participate fully in the kindergarten program. She works closely with educators, children and families to ensure all children have the opportunity to thrive, learn and develop confidence in their own unique way.
We are delighted to have Tina back as part of the Seaford Heights team and look forward to the positive contribution she will continue to make to our kindergarten community.
