3 YEAR OLD KINDERGARTEN
What we focus on
We provide a safe and supportive environment that empowers children to learn and grow in their own time and their own way.
We foster growth, development and learning in 3 year old kindergarten by:
Building secure attachments with familiar and consistent educators who are interested, invested and care deeply
Using play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas
Creating a community where children are encourage to learn with and alongside others
3 year old kindergarten can be a child's first experience in being separated from mum, dad and other primary care-givers. It is also often the first time children are learning how to play with other children, handle play negotiations and social interactions. Given this, we strive to create a very nurtuing and supportive environment in which children can thrive socially and emotionally, alongside learning and developing new skills.
3 Year Old Kindergarten Hours
Our 3 year old program is 10 hours per week (2 sessions) with families invited to select their preferences of days.
Hours are 8:30am -1:30pm Monday to Friday.
Wherever possible families are given preference for attendance days.
Kindergarten follows school terms.
3 year old and 4 year old kindergarten is fully funded by the Victorian Government; no fees are charged for your child's kindergarten place.
Our 3 year old program runs in conjunction with our 4 year old program. 3 year old children attend two sessions of five hours a week.
The program is run by three experienced staff: a highly experienced Bachelor qualified Kindergarten Teacher, along with two Diploma qualified Educators.
Some of the added benefits of running a combined program are:
Children benefit from building stronger relationships with the same teachers and educators over two years.
Maintaining teaching relationships over a two year period allows teachers to more deeply connect and understand your child and therefore integrate their unique learning and social needs into your child’s learning experiences.
Offers 4yo children an opportunity for leadership and responsibility within the group, as well as expanded play options and experiences for 3yo children. This supports the development of social skills, language development and concept development for both the 3 and 4 year olds.
Increasing to three teachers within the learning space, means your child will benefit from increased teacher interaction and focused teacher time.
Running an indoor/outdoor program will allow your child the necessary space for individual play and an opportunity to explore quiet self directed play. Both of which can be easily facilitated through smaller child to teacher ratios.
